Students of KNUST Basic school cheers their contestants on

The KNUST Basic School emerged winners of the fourth edition of the Junior Science and Mathematics Quiz (JSMQ). On December 6th, 2023, the winner’s trophy and medals were presented to the school at the forecourt in a short ceremony. The KNUST Basic School emerged winners of the maiden edition in 2019 and missed out on the 2020 and 2021 editions.

The KNUST Basic School remains focused and committed to raising formidable teams for the subsequent editions to ensure that the school leads other basic schools across the country by a mile. The team met the Vice-Chancelor for KNUST, Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson to present the winner’s trophy to her at her office on Thursday, December 21st 2023. It was all joy as the vice-chancellor charged the students to keep the momentum in their studies and make themselves into world changers whose lives and activities will bring transformation.

There have been many potentials that stalled at the claps of onlookers, she urged them to see these feats as a step into higher heights that will bring even more honour and glory. Prof. Mrs. Dickson further charged the Basic School to do all it takes to defend the trophy in the next edition; a charge that was well accepted by the Head of Basic School, Rev. Mrs. Irene Owusua Nkansah and Deputy Head for the Junior High section of the Basic School, Mr. Eric Oti-Attah.
